He graduated from Govt. College of Arts & Crafts, Chennai and specializes in Visual Arts Graphics/Sculpture/Paintings. He had participated in all major exhibitions conducted in India and abroad. His painting collections can be seen in places like Madras Museum, Tanjore Tamil University, Chandigarh Museum, Delhi Lalit Kala Academy and the list goes on. Apart, he had designed for lot of Book covers, illustrated Publications and for books of other languages too.

His dramatic performance as an art includes the theatres like Kali with Theru Koothu, Search with Koothupattarai, N. Muthuswamy's Suverottigal with Koothupattarai etc.. which were all produced and directed by him. Apart, he had designed costumes and sets for other theatres too. He worked as an Art Director and Costume Designer for many films in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and also for Manoj Shyamalan's & Jagmundra's Hollywood films. His work includes even Documentaries, T.V. Serials and Advertisement Films.

He won awards for his paintings from Madras Lalit Kala Academy and from other associations. He had won National Awards for Art Direction in Madwacharya-Kannada, Oru Vadakan Veera Katha-Malayalam, Bharathi-Tamil and for Costume Design in Oru Vadakan Veera Katha. He had won Kerala State Awards for Malayalam Films like Swathi Thirunal, Vaisali etc.. and also received Film Critic's Award for the above two films and for Oru Vadakan Veera Katha.
